As we age, wrinkles or lines of expression begin to appear in the forehead region, crows feet on the corner of the eyes, between the eyebrows and the upper nose. These wrinkles can be removed with a procedure that involves an incision in the hair-bearing scalp. Those with high foreheads can have a forehead lift through a frontal hairline incision that not only reduces the height of the forehead but also protects the hair in the frontal scalp. As we age, our facial skin and the underlying muscles of expression become stretched and we develop looseness of the neck skin, jowls, deeper cheek folds and lines that often extend from the corner of the mouth down to the jaw line. In addition, we can develop some loss of fatty tissue in the facial area. Our goal is to correct as many of these signs of aging as possible. For more information click here.
As we age, hooding of the upper eyelids may occur and lead to loss of peripheral vision prematurely. The eyes may also begin to look smaller. The hooding occurs for two different reasons - - the lengthening of the forehead muscles with the eyebrows dropping, plus the laxity of the skin of the upper eyelid. With the lower eyelids, we can develop laxity of the lower eyelid skin causing the lower eyelid "bags." Frequently, there is also herniation of fat that is seen more prominently on the lower eyelids than on the upper eyelids. In addition, the lower eyelid skin can become very relaxed, causing a drooping of the lower eyelid. The procedure includes removing excess skin and the fat pads are either partially removed or shifted into a new position which modifies the lower eyelid to improve both function and appearance. This procedure gives nice definition to the cheekbone. The implants are most commonly placed through a lower eyelid incision or through an incision behind the upper lip. For more information click here.
Many people dislike the appearance of their nose. Most often, the cause is hereditary, but it can also be caused by injury. Each nose is very unique and the surgery is performed in a closed fashion. Closed, meaning the nose is corrected from the inside, resulting in absolutely no visible scars, except when the base of the nose is narrowed. For more information click here.
This can be accomplished three ways:
1. Collagen injections lasting approximately 3-4 months
2. Fat grafts
3. Dermal fat grafts: Utilizing dermis and underlying fat to develop a pleasing enlargement.
